Sujit K. Pandit, Emeritus Professor of University of Michigan, has kindly given us permission to publish these personal letters, which he wrote to his family 
members and friends from his recent Mediterranean trip.

We are very proud to inform our readers that the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, has initiated a permanent endowed lectureship devoted to ambulatory and pediatric anesthesia to honor Sujit K. Pandit, MD, and his wife Uma A. Pandit, MD, for their combined 90 years in medicine and 50 years of service to the university. 

With a very heavy heart we would also like to inform that Uma Anand Pandit  has left us recently after battling pancreatic cancer.
